Life Changing

M's mom had a pretty severe heart attack this past Friday night.  She's been in ICU since her surgery, but it looks like things are getting better now.  She was doing real well on Saturday, and it was looking like she'd be out of the hospital by today.  On Sunday though, she had a tremor and they decided to keep her in ICU for a couple more days.  She had a heart pump attached to her heart to help with the blood pumping in order to allow it to recover from the heart attack.  Doctors are saying that the vessels below the arteries are closed up...it's a heriditary deal where her vessels didn't develop properly as she's grown.  Now, they're treating with medications, and are expecting a full recovery.

It's just insane though, cuz it was so completely unexpected.  She's going to have to turn her entire life around, eating habits, exercise, attitude, etc...  It's funny how it takes something so dramatic to make a difference in life sometimes.  The family are all doing a lot better now, though it has been a rough experience.  M has been pretty great throughout all of this, and we just have to be thankful everyday for what we have and the second chances we're all given.

Sorry to hear about the heart attack. The good news is that she was able to identify the signs and get help at the appropriate time. Eating healthy and exercise will always be good for the body young or old. I'm starting to do it more deligently now so that I don't have to deal with those issues down the road.
